Conseils-Plus recommends to reorganize processes which are heavily structured by SAP® (non trade specific) using SAP® functionalities and standard processes.
During an iterative prototyping, the following will be performed:
-
A first prototype available at the scope definition stage:
Integrating simple organizational structures, simple standard SAP® processes for each functional field as well as the option to play with keyed-in basic data. -
A second prototype available half-way through the design stage:
Adapted to the client’s specific needs: for each functional domain, the basic representative data has been keyed in, and all the organizational structures and existing target processes have been set according to standard parameters in SAP®.
Both prototypes serve as tools for the work sessions, to design and model the business processes and to make successive demonstrations to the business representatives of the project team. In addition, they represent excellent tools for validation and communication.
Working directly on a prototype helps to:
- Demystify SAP® and reinforce the support of the people taking part in the project: whereas a prototype can serve to demonstrate the power of the tool (positive aspects), working in the office on the management rules of SAP® tends to emphasize SAP®’s constraints (negative aspects);
- Use SAP® optimally and reduce the number of custom changes specific to the client: convergence is faster when starting with the possibilities offered by the tool;
- Reinforce creativity and reshaping of the processes: drawing one’s inspiration from SAP®’s best practices rather than from the existing;
- Show that SAP® is a flexible tool allowing customization and various business process modelization;
- Develop a language using the SAP® terminology which promotes understanding between the project participants;
- Anticipate the construction stage of the solution: brief parameter setting, demonstration of possibilities.
